What is coaching?

  • Good question! Coaching is an opportunity for development. The client enters the relationship with a specific goal or area of focus they want to work on, and the coach provides guidance to help the client achieve those goals. The coach doesn't just tell the client what to do, though. Instead, the coach helps clients build the self-awareness and tools they need to accomplish their goals.

Is coaching like therapy?

  • Coaching is kinda like therapy in that you, 1. will probably leave the session feeling better than you did when you entered, and 2. our goal is that you will feel confident and ready for our relationship to end.
  • The biggest difference between therapy and coaching is that therapy is usually focused on mental health, while coaching is generally more focused on growth - personal, professional, interpersonal, etc. Difficult emotions can rise to the surface in the pursuit of growth, and a coach can help a client process emotions around an issue to a certain extent. However, if the client seems to have trauma or other deep emotional work to do, a coach will advise the client to contact a licensed therapist to receive the appropriate care.

What coaching formats do you offer?

  • If you're in the Greater New Orleans area, I'd love to meet you in person! But I believe genuine connection can happen online, too, and I am happy to offer video coaching. Check out my packages or send me a note for more information.

What can I talk about with a coach?

  • You can talk about any part of your life that you want to develop. You can talk about what's been bugging you at work or in a personal relationship. You can talk about an idea you have simmering for a business. You can talk about your goals for the future, how you're wondering if you should go back to school, or how you don't know what you want. You can talk about whatever is on your mind because a coach's job is to listen. When you're ready, I'll help you set goals and determine how to get where you want to be.
  • Never hesitate to reach out. I'll help you figure out if coaching is the right fit for you.

How long does coaching last?

  • We'll meet regularly in 60-min sessions for 6-12 weeks, with the option to extend the program duration.

What are your rates?

  • I currently charge $55 per hour, and rates can be negotiated for a long-term agreement.
  • Equity and access are important to me. If you belong to a marginalized identity group or are in a difficult financial situation, Boost and sliding-scale rates are available.

What kind of clients do you work with?

  • I am happy to work with anyone who is dealing with the effects of burnout and help them figure out what supportive strategies are going to help them feel most like themselves again. I love getting to work with women and young folks especially, because we can break down the thoughts like "I'm supposed to be able to do it all" or "I'm too young/I don't have enough experience to be feeling burned out." Burnout can happen to anyone. And it happens to everyone. I might be the person who can help you.
